Caption reads: Decorating, Glazing, and Final Production Inspection. The "Champion" name, the plug type number and the glaze are applied to the bisque fired insulators in one operation on special Champion-designed automatic machines. Firing at 1900 F. produces a hard, smooth surface to which dirt and grease do not readily adhere. Each insulator is inspected for visible defects in accordance with strict specifications.
