Photograph. Sepia-toned glossy photo showing a fire at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. The view shows a long, 1-story building on fire. The roof has collapsed and there is black smoke billowing from the top. Several firemen can be seen at work around the perimeter of the building and one water jet is streaming into the burning structure. A large crowd of spectators can be seen on a lawn area in the foreground. An embossed seal in the lower right corner of the photo shows "The Detroit News, Detroit, Mich." A typewritten note on the verso shows "State Fair Grounds, April 3, 1942."
