Sepia toned photograph taken from above the tail of an airplane. A pilot is seated in the cockpit facing the rear of the plane, looking through the scope of the plane's artillery. A hand written note on the back of the photograph reads as follows:
"Experimental military plane built in Detroit. Metal fuselage and empennage, but wooden wing built at Lockheed in Burbank, Ca. & shipped to Detroit by express. Powered with Curtiss "Conqueror" engine."
A stamp on the back of the photograph indicates that it is a velox print, printed by Eastman Kodak Stores, Detroit, on January 13, 1932.
