Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing the construction of a railroad bridge over the Rouge River. Printed text in the upper left corner of the photo shows the number, "35," and "M.C.R.R. River Rouge Bascule Bridge; Superstructure; Erecting East Counterweight Truss; Photo W. B. James; Jan. 31, 1920." The view looks northward on the east side of the Rouge River and shows the tower post structure which provides support for the bridge counterweights. A construction crane can be seen in the right background as well as the 2-story brick building for the bridge operator.
