Black and white panoramic group portrait of a gathering of members of the Detroit Goodfellows posed in front of the entrance to the Detroit News Building. The group is is composed of men clad in hats, and coats decorated with large pins, and with newspaper carrier bags slung over their shoulders. Several uniformed police officers, some also wearing the bag, are also among the crowd. The tops of six tubas stand out above the crowd near upper right. The photo appears to have been pieced together along a roughly vertical seam that conforms to the outlines of several subjects to the left of center, mounted on cardboard, then affixed with a brushed-on finish.
