Large black and white photograph taken from an elevated position overlooking firefighters using twenty streams of water to battle the fire that broke out at the Advance Glove Company's building on West Jefferson Avenue near Griswold Street. A fire truck with a raised ladder is in the center of the frame, and several other apparatuses, including two trucks outfitted with water cannons in the foreground, and an aerial apparatus on the left side of the frame. Through the smoke, signs that say "Advance Glove Man," "Grunow", and "Beecher" are visible.
