Sepia-toned full length portrait photograph of Mary Batterman Booth wearing the dress gown she wore for her introduction to the court of the King and Queen of England on May 19, 1931. She holds an ostrich feather fan up to her shoulder. "The diamond wedding piece I only thought about placing properly so as to be able to wear it--the very last minute as I was dressing for the court. This picture was taken the day before (the pin was placed between the necklace & the square emerald to night of the court. This is the first quick proof turned out by Tuesday noon, May 19th. The ass. press were screaming for photos & they chose this of the two (to send out). Its too bad as some of the others I liked better but this isn't so bad." is handwritten on the verso.
