Black and white photograph of the rear of Château de Pontchartrain in Jouars-Pontchartrain, Yvelines. The large body of water at the back of the Chateau is not visible, just a pond that leads into it. On the other side of the pond is a large, grass field and the Chateau a little to the right. The archway in the center of the back wall of the house is visible with the clock and domed roof above it. Two wings are on either side of the central wall (the center eight windows). The roofs of the two longer sections in the front of the building can be seen. The roof of the Chateau is in the Mansard style. The Chateau is shaped like a three-sided rectangle with two, one-story wings built off of the back side (shortest in length). A second building in similar style, is set- off to the left of the photograph, possibly part of the estate. "Michel Desjardins," is handwritten on the verso.
