Black and white photograph of the back of Château de Pontchartrain in Jouars-Pontchartrain, Yvelines, as viewed from across a small pond, and grass field. There is an archway at the center of the Chateau that leads to the front courtyard. Above the archway is a clock. The roof of the Chateau is Mansard style. A single-story wing is set on either side of the central three-story building. This view shows the back section of the three-storied section of the Chateau which is in the shape of a three-sided rectangle. The two longer sections are in the front, only their roofs visible from this angle. Two statues can be seen, one at either end of the Chateau. The left statue is what seems to be a man standing with his legs apart, the left hand outstreched a little. The statues on the right is of a person standing straight with legs together, hands at their sides. "Michel Desjardins," is handwritten on the verso.
