Volunteers; Served with his regiment in Army of The Cumberland; Was engaged in the battle of Tibbs Bend under Genl. Moore and of Franklin under Genl. Schofield; Later was appointed aid on Genl. Boyles staff and brevetted Capt. On discharge."
