Print, Photographic

Sepia-toned photo of the exterior of a Walgreen Drug Store on the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and West Columbia Street, as viewed from the northeast corner, taken from a photo album of air conditioning installations done by the Detroit Ice Machine Company in 1937. A variety of products are advertised in the store's window display. Several pedestrians walk along the street. A row of four cars are parked along Woodward in front of the building. A sign advertising a "Russian Restaurant" is posted on a Second Empire style building further down Columbia Street. "M-2016," is printed near the lower right corner of the photo, corresponding to the description "30 Ton Air Conditioning," on the table of contents page (2008.039.003). The photo is mounted on a linen photo album page with a flap on the left hand side with three holes for binding.
