Print, Photographic

Sepia-toned photo of the air conditioning compressors in Radner Beef Company's machine room, taken from a photo album of air conditioning installations done by the Detroit Ice Machine Company in 1937. The equipment is installed at one end of a narrow brick room with cement floor. The portion of the floor in the foreground is wet with footsteps trailing back between the machines. "28929, S&W," is printed near the lower right corner of the photo, corresponding to the description "5x5 & 6x6 Ammonia Compressors," on the table of contents page (2008.039.003). The photo is mounted on a linen photo album page with a flap on the left hand side with three holes for binding. A "Spence and Wyckoff, Commercial Photographers, Detroit," stamp is on the verso.
