They're crossed horizontally by Hancock Street, Warren Avenue, Farnsworth Street, Putnam Street, Merrick Street, Kirby Street, Ferry Street, Palmer Street, and Hendrie Street. Notable visible landmarks include First Congregational Church, the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, the Horace H. Rackham Education Memorial Building, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Park Shelton apartment building, the Detroit Police Department 13th Precinct station, the Maccabees Building (during its usage by WXYZ), the old Student Center Building (previously Webster Hall Hotel, and later Mackenzie Hall), the Detroit Public Library Main Branch, the Detroit Historical Museum, the Belcrest apartment building, the Hilberry Theater, Old Main, Science Hall, State Hall, and the Chatsworth Apartments.
