Black and white aerial photograph cut from a proof sheet taken of downtown facing north toward midtown and New Center, taken from a point roughly above Grand River Avenue and Bagley Street. Cass Avenue, Clifford Street, and Woodward Avenue run from the bottom of the photo toward the horizon. The top of the Statler Hotel, the Hotel Tuller, the Grand Army of the Republic Building, the Fyfe Building, the Fine Arts Building, the Kales Building, the Fox Theatre, St. John's Episcopal Church, I-75, the Donovan Building, the Masonic Temple, the Professional Plaza, and the Fisher Building are all in view. Part of the photographer's plane is captured along the bottom of the image. "City of Detroit, Report & Information, 72101, Photographic," was stamped on the verso of the proof sheet, however the final digit was hand-corrected to "2."
