Print, Photographic

Black and white aerial photograph cut from a proof sheet taken of downtown from a point roughly above Park Avenue and I-75 facing southeast. The David Whitney Building is in the center of the frame. Around it are the Grand Circus Park, David Broderick Tower, the Kales Building, the Fyfe Building, the Statler Hotel, Book Tower, Hudson's, Cadillac Tower, the David Stott Building, the First Federal Building, the Penobscot, and the Guardian Building. Woodward Avenue runs diagonally from the lower right toward the center. The wing of the photographer's plane is captured at the top left corner of the image. "City of Detroit, Report & Information, 72101, Photographic," was stamped on the verso of the proof sheet, however the final digit was hand-corrected to "2."
