Black and white street view photograph from a glass plate negative of the west side of Woodward Avenue, looking northward, between Willis and Canfield. Woodward Avenue is visible in the foreground, including street car tracks. Affixed to the northwest corner of Woodward and Willis is a moonlight tower, and beside it, a carriage is parked; Daggett's Chocolates and other businesses are adjacent to Woodward. Residential structures are visible in the background including a Queen Anne style home with two spires on the hipped roof, tower, and ornamented portico, located at 821 Woodward, home of C.H. Smith, built 1834. Also, street cars and horse carriages are visible in the background. Written on the verso, "West side of Woodward, looking north between Willis and Canfield. 3rd house with 2 spires, 821 Woodward, residence of C.H. Smith, built 1834."
