Black and white photograph, mounted on board, taken by Donald N. Hauler at 11:30 AM on September 8, 1965. A caption on the back of the image indicates that the photograph is "looking westward across Woodward Avenue from souther side of Gratiot Avenue approx. 40' east of Woodward." Many people can be seen walking on the sidewalks and in the crosswalk, with numerous automobiles visible on the avenues. The building in the background is the "S.S. Kresge Co. '5 and 10'" store.

According to a caption on the back of the image, the photograph was taken with a camera with the following specifications: "Crown Graphic Camera Schneider 127 mm lens 4x5 royal pan 1/100 sec f 16"
