Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing a fire at a 2-story commercial building. A faded painted sign on the side of the brick building shows "Detroit Mill Supply, Woolen & Cotton Rags, Paper Mill." The view shows railroad tracks in the foreground as well as several groups of firemen who are handling hoses and aiming three water jets into the upper windows of the burning structure. One ladder is leaning against the side of the building. Large clouds of smoke are billowing from the top of the structure. Handwriting on the verso shows "Five alarm, Detroit Mill & Supply Co., 1909 E. Ferry at Dequindre, 4-20-41."
