The view shows fire escape landings and stairs on the side of the burning structure along with billowing clouds of smoke. The Detroit Fire Department "Snorkel" truck and aerial ladder truck are parked on the street and firemen are directing water jets into the burning building from two elevated positions. Other firemen on the street are handling hoses and equipment. A spectator can be seen near the lower right corner of the photo. The Boyer Tire shop can be seen at the right side of the photo.
