Print, Photographic
Sepia-toned photographic print depicting a patient with one arm and three fingers holding a paint brush, identified as Mr. Drader, and a nurse holding the paint can, both posing with a wicker crib atop a cabinet which he built as part of an occupational therapy program at the Newberry House on East Jefferson Avenue. The nurse wears an arm band on which the letter "T" is visible. They stand in a workshop where several benches are lined with paint cans. Several articulated wooden toys in the form of men on horseback are on the benches and perched on the window rails. The photo was previously mounted on a matting onto which a typewritten caption was affixed:
