Two large exhibit panels feature the founding of the paper in 1831, through the end of World War II. Affixed signage reads, "How Michigan's Oldest Newspaper Reported Events Through the Years… Now in its 127th Year! More than ever before you see the friendly FREE PRESS everywhere! Circulation 471,203 daily… 505,806 Sunday." The photographic sequence number and date are hand-written on the verso, "116777; 12/27/57."
