Print, Photographic

Glossy black and white print of a much earlier photograph taken at street level at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Jefferson Avenue facing southeast toward the Detroit River. Three women in long dresses with parasols, two men in suits and hats, and a girl in a dress and hat walk away from the camera. A man in a hat and jacket approaches the camera. Behind them a horse and buggy and a horse and wagon are headed east on Jefferson. The base of a moonlight tower is at the opposite side of the street. Further down Woodward, signs are visible for an engraving company, J.T. Wing and Company, L. Depew and Company Crackers Wholesale, and the Mariners' Church. Part of a docked steamship is also visible at the riverfront. "Woodward & Jefferson, c.1880s/early 90s" handwritten on verso.
