Mounted, sepia-toned photographic print depicting Campus Martius as viewed from slightly above street level near the mouth of West Fort Street, facing north. The corner of City Hall is at the left edge of the frame, and the fountain in front of it is near the photo's center. The lower extent of the moonlight tower in Campus Martius is also visible. A sizable crowd is on the lawn of City Hall and in Campus Martius. Among the people are also horse carriages, and several horse-drawn streetcars, including one labeled "Fort Wayne" on Fort Street at the lower right. In the background is the Opera House and several surrounding businesses including, the Michigan Phonograph Company, Michell's, Hull Brothers, Chas. H. Werner's Crockery and Glassware. The photo is mounted on off-white cardstock matting with an embossed frame. "C.1892-3" handwritten on verso.
