Mounted sepia toned photograph of a D.M Ferry and Company farm at Grand River Avenue and West Grand Boulevard, as indicated on the verso. Six men stand in the field gathering hay, as a man drives a team of three horses pulling a reaper. Three of the men's names have been handwritten below on the matting--the man leading the horse-drawn reaper is Tom Taylor, and William Radford and Edward Crout gather the crops. "Tom Taylor (father of Mr. Edward Rocher) came to Ferry Seed Farm about 1896. William H. Radford - overseer of Ferry Seed Farm. Edward Crout" is handwritten on the verso in pencil.
