Black and white photographic print, looking westward from Woodward Avenue, is the plaza and entryway of the Detroit Historical Museum. Patrons are visible entering the museum through the revolving door. Signage, visible on the left side of the plaza reads, "Short Term Exhibits, November, War of 1812; Historic Citizen Albert Kahn; Little Things in Life (Toys); Hours, Tue. Thru Sun. 9:00AM to 6:00 PM, Closed Mondays." Also, a typed note attached to the verso of the photograph reads, "The DETROIT HISTORICAL MUSEUM traces the growth of Detroit from a stockade outpost of the French in America to the present Renaissance City. Scenes of Detroit's past include a cobblestone street lined with shops from the 1840s to the 20th century. The Historical Museum is part of Detroit's Cultural Center, an impressive grouping of museums, libraries, university buildings, and other cultural facilities located two miles from downtown Detroit."
