Black and white photographic print of an exhibit of early settlers during Colonial times featured inside the Detroit Historical Museum. The exhibit features a woman and a man, standing on either side of the dining room table inside their home; they are accompanied by an animal pelt, dried foliage, a sideboard, and lantern. Typed on the verso, "EARLY SETTLERS had few trappings of elegance as witness this scene from the home of a resident of Detroit in Colonial times. This was regarded as being a cut above the average." Also, hand written on the verso, "Used in M. News, Nov. 1964, p. 13; 117662, 10-13-58."
