Print, Photographic

Black and white photographic print depicting a mannequin dressed as a Civil War soldier standing at the mouth of a passageway in Fort Wayne. Behind him, a plaque is on the brick wall.
Caption reads: Guarding part - At the end of the dark tunnel into Old Fort Wayne in Detroit stands a mannequin sentinel of history in full uniform of the period in which this great redoubt served its only function. Built to defend Detroit against Canada, Fort Wayne happily never fired a shot against an enemy of the United States, but stands instead a moment to the peace which still exists at our northern border. The fort, according to the Michigan Tourist Council, was an embarkation point in the Civil War, but today is a military museum.
