A small boy in a captain's hat stands on a rock in the foreground. A bench swing stands atop the lighthouse tower where the lens would have been. A 48-star American flag is flown in front of the rebuilt keeper's house. Captions on the verso provides information about the site's since-debunked connection to Jefferson Davis, "this lighthouse on Lake Huron, just north of Alpens, was built in 1838 under the direction of Jefferson Davis, and now is to be made a Confederate Shrine in honor of the President of the Confederation States of America." A Stamp below reads, "Motor News, Automobile Club of Michigan, 139 Bagley, Detroit 26, Michigan."
