Black and white photo of the Grand Haven South Pierhead Rear and Front Range Lighthouses, overlooking Lake Michigan, as viewed from the cement pier beneath the catwalk connect the lights and the shore, to the west of the rear light. People fishing line the south side of the pier. The rear light stands in the middle ground, and the front light is in the background. "Jack Van Coevering, 9816 Ingram, Rosedale Gardens, Plymouth, Michigan," is stamped on the verso along with "1940 Contest Photo, pay $1 if used." A handwritten note on the verso indicates that the photo was used in the June 1954 issue of "Motor News."
