Black and white photo of the Point Betsie Lighthouse in Frankfort, Michigan, overlooking Lake Michigan, as taken from the beach to the south. Waves crash on the beach immediately in front of the camera. A child stands on the beach near the right edge of the frame. Markings in red grease pencil have been made along the right edge and in the center of of the bottom third of the photo. "Michigan Tourist Council, Credit Line Appreciated, Negative Number 1281, Michigan Tourist Council, Lansing 26, Michigan," is stamped on the verso. "Point Betsie Light, north of Frankfort on M-22, is a favorite subject for artists. It dates from 1858." is typewritten on a label pasted to the verso. A handwritten note on the verso indicates that the photo was used in the June 1964 issue of "Michigan News" on page 12.
