ASHLEY exits the Sabin Lock. The starboard bow of a westbound freighter, possibly the FRANCIS L. ROBBINS waiting to enter the Poe Lock is on the left edge of the frame. Ahead of it, a freighter is raised within the Poe Lock. In the distant background, another freighter is at the mouth of the North Canal. Each freighter is identified on the verso, along with the date ranges under which they sailed under that name. "Auto Club of Mich." is handwritten along the left edge of the verso. The masking used to position the original photo is visible around the edges of this print.
