A westbound freighter leaves the MacArthur Lock, as an eastbound freighter waits for it to pass. A westbound freighter also exits the Davis Lock. The Edison Sault Power Canal extends off the right edge of the frame. The Sault Ste. Marie Canal is visible near the upper left corner of the frame. The Sault Ste. Marie International Railroad Bridge extends across the canals. "Jul 7 1958," is stamped on the verso, alongside another stamp which indicates the image was used in an article entitled, "Make Mine Michigan," in the May 1956 issue of "Motor News."
