Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at Kern's Department Store. Various women's cloche hats in several colors and textures are featured; women's shoes are also displayed. Signage affixed to the rear of the display reads, "Proposed civic center of greater Detroit - at the foot of our street. Note the beautiful memorial hall to be dedicated to the heroes of the world war. The war is over but let us not forget who put it over." A mural painting of the possible civic center is adjacent to the signage. Right of the mural is signage noting the 44th Founders Month at Kern's. The name, location, and date of image are printed on the bottom right corner of the recto, "Davis B. Hillmer, Detroit, 1927."
