Black and white photo taken of Woodward Avenue north from just south of State Street and Gratiot Avenue. Kern's; the Kern's clock; Mary Lee Candies; Hudson's; Dr. Adam's, Dentist; and the David Stott Building are on the east side of the street. Kresge's with an addition under construction by the Cooper-Little Company, Woolworth, Miller-Wohl, Grinell Brothers Music House, the David Whitney Building, the Fyfe Building, and the Fox Theatre are visible on the west side of the street. People wait at the streetcar platform in the center of the Woodward, and several streetcars are in view, as are many other pedestrians, cars, and a bus. Two Detroit Public Works employees wheel a garbage can along the west side of the street.
