Sepia-toned glossy photo showing a front corner view of the Detroit Fire Department Central Fire Alarm Station. The entrance to the 3-story brick building can be seen on the right side of the photo and "Central Fire Alarm Station" can be seen over the doorway. Handwriting on the verso shows "Detroit Fire Department, N.W. corner Hastings (Chrysler Fwy.) & Macomb St. Built in 1920. First radio station WKDT installed in 1929 to dispatch messages to fire boat. All companies had radios (2 way) by 1943. (Building still in use in 1973.)" Additional handwriting on the verso shows "Manning Bros., Lincoln Bldg., Detroit" and "#260-G."
