Black and white photographic print depicting rows of new Plymouth Sixes parked on the deck of the Nicholson-Universal Steamship Company automobile-carrying freighter CRESCENT CITY, with many more cars being driven onboard the docked ship. On the shore in the background are more parked cars, water towers and industrial buildings.
Caption reads: Record Auto Boatload Shipped. Believe it or not, but this is the deck of a boat - the Crescent City - which left Detroit this week with 527 motor cars aboard - the largest single shipment of any one many of car ever to leave Detroit view water. The shipment was made by the Plymouth Motor Corporation, and was destined for points on the Great Lakes. Almost every square foot of the craft - including the topdeck, as shown in this photo - was covered with new Standard and De Luxe Plymouth Sixes.
