Several members of the group wear ribbons emblazoned with "You are my guest today," as well as whimsical hats including several cylindrical hats printed with, "Nimm mich mit," and "aussen is ka sünd." The group also hold signs printed with slogans about Detroit, with several references to Boston as well--"Detroit's wheels keep Boston moving," "Detroit! 2 minutes from a glass of beer," "Detroit! Where life is worth living," "Boston--we raise the beans you eat," "Progress, Prosperity, Property, Population, Detroit!!!, "The Wonder City of America, Detroit," and "Ask the man who lives there." "Detroit Day on board M.S. St. Louis to Berlin 1929," is handwritten on the verso.
