Sepia-toned photo of Kaye Don, his co-driver and their hydroplane the MISS ENGLAND II, after capsizing during the 1931 Harmsworth Trophy Race on the Detroit River against Gar Wood. The hydroplane and two figures are visible as seen from above at the upper right corner of the frame. Two figures swim toward them from the bottom of the frame. A handwritten caption on the verso reads, "Kaye Don's boat overturns in Harnsworth races vs. Gar Wood." "Please credit photo courtesy Detroit Mirror," is stamped on the verso.
