Retouched black and white photo of the Penobscot Building on the southern corner of Fort Street and Griswold Street, as taken from the northeast. A "City Bank" sign is posted on the southern corner of the building just above street level. The Ford Building stands to the left on Griswold. Sanders signs are posted about the windows to the store within the Ford Building. A portion of the Buhl Building is visible on the left edge of frame, and both the Dime Building and City Hall are on the right edge. The construction site where the Hammond Building stood, and the National Bank of Detroit Building will be built is at the bottom of the frame, across Griswold from the Penobscot. Cars and pedestrians are in the streets. A Lens-Art Photo stamp is on the verso, with the order number 4539-1.
