Print, Photographic

Sepia-toned photographic print depicting Washington Boulevard as viewed from slightly above street level on the south side of Michigan Avenue, facing north. The statue of General Alexander Macomb, and the fountain are in the landscaped median. The Cadillac Hotel, the headquarters for the Edison Illuminating Company, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and the David Whitney Building are visible on the east side of the street. A hotel, the Reliable Furniture Company, a campaign advertisement for mayoral candidate Judge [William F.] Connolly and the still under-construction Book Building are on the west side. Cars are parked along the street, and a man stands near the Macomb statue. "1916-1918" handwritten on verso.
