Black and white copy of photograph, printed on photo paper, depicting the eastern side of Campus Martius, taken from an elevated position, likely atop the Hammond Building, facing northeast. Monroe Street, the Monroe Block, the Central Market Building, Cadillac Square, the Russell House, the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, and a moonlight tower are all in view. Famous Clothing House is the only storefront in the Second Williams Block with a legible sign. Pedestrians, horse carriages, and horse-drawn streetcars traverse the streets. Ste. Anne's Catholic Church is visible in the distance. "1890" handwritten on verso, however the Central Market Building was demolished in 1889.
