Photograph. Black and white glossy photo showing an underground vault/pit on the Renaissance Center construction site. The vault/pit is fairly shallow and is rectangular in shape (possibly a former privy or burial site). A large stone that is somewhat rectangular in shape is resting on the ground surface at one end of the vault although it is not known if this had previously covered the vault/pit. Several twisted sections of small diameter pipes can be seen nearby among the clumps of earth that are lightly covered with snow. The view also shows a small chalkboard with archaeological reference notes (dated 12-16-1973), two 1-foot reference scales, and a north arrow.
