Print. Black and white photographic print depicting AFSCME Vice President Alvin Ruthenberg seated at a table, speaking with another man, possibly a journalist, who is writing in a notebook and has a copy of Labor's Daily folded in his pocket. Ruthenberg wears a name tag with a medal hung from it, as well as a lapel pin. A sign reading, "Municipal Employees," is posted at the table. Another issue of Labor's Daily is on the table, and its front page features the headlines, "Teamsters Join Maritime Trade Unit, Industrial Group Nixed for Beck," "Harriman Hits Foes of Unity," "Top British Labor Chief Hails Merger, 'Milestone,'' and "Supreme Court Douses Georgia Judicial Racism," A brochure or booklet entitled, "Fight Engineer," is also on the table along with some another booklet entitled, "Free Labor World," and more newspapers and several coats and hats. The arm and shoulder of another man are visible on the left edge of the frame. "Press Picture Service, Press Publicity Commercial Photography, 2033 Woodward near Grand Circus Park, Detroit 26, Michigan," is stamped on the verso.
