Print. Sepia-toned photographic print of the shoe shines station at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Chairs are aligned against the left wall for patrons and includes small foot rests, also visible are small storage locations for the shoe shiner's equipment. A velvet curtain can be seen dividing the patron from the shoe shiner. A small sign affixed to the left wall above the shoe-shine station reads, "Expert Shoe Repairing While You Wait." The photographic sequence number, name and location of photographer are printed on the bottom of the recto, "12621; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer; Detroit."
