Photograph. Black and white photo showing the riverfront and downtown Detroit as seen from Windsor. The view shows the Detroit River in the foreground with several ships moored along the riverfront. Downtown Detroit buildings can be seen in the background including the Penobscot Building, Guardian Building, Ford Building, and First National Building. The City-County Building (now called the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center) can be seen under construction at the right center area of the photo. The ship near the left side of the photo with the dark-colored hull is the "Eastern States" which was owned by the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company. The ship with the white hull near the center of the photo is the "North American" of the Chicago, Duluth & Georgian Bay Transit Company (Georgian Bay Line).
