Photograph. Black and white photo showing the riverfront and downtown Detroit as seen from Windsor. The foreground view shows the Pere Marquette II railroad car ferry moored at the dock in Windsor. The Detroit River can be seen in the background along with downtown Detroit buildings including the Penobscot Building, Guardian Building, Ford Building, and Hudson's. The City-County Building (now called the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center) can be seen under construction near the center right area of the photo. Several ships are moored along the Detroit riverfront including the "Eastern States" (dark-colored hull at the center of the photo) which was owned by the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company and the "North American" (white hull to the right of the City-County Building) which was owned by the Chicago, Duluth & Georgian Bay Transit Company (Georgian Bay Line).
