The lineman, Jim Nance (name shown on his gloves), has clamped the end of the cable in a vise that is located at the front end of a truck. The cable insulation has been removed and it appears that he is using a strip of sandpaper to clean the bare wire. He is wearing work clothes, climbing spikes, a tool belt, heavy gloves, and a hat. A concrete block building with dirty windows can be seen in the background.
