Black and white photographic print of a series of pedestrians standing on the far eastern side of the Lagoon of Nations prior to the opening of the World's Fair; pedestrians are visible around the lagoon, and the Hudson's Flag neighbors the western edge of the lagoon. Construction on the Trylon and Perisphere, components of the Theme Center can be seen in the background, behind the flag. Editorial notations can be seen on the upper left side of the photograph. The photographer's name and geographic location are stamped on the verso, "Credit: Victor De Palma, from Black Star, Graybar Building, New York." Also, the date and time are stamped on the verso, "1938, Dec 3, PM 4 32."
