Black and white photographic print, taken from an aerial vantage point, of the Hudson's Flag, displayed in Flushing Meadows - Corona Park, New York during the construction of the buildings for the 1939 World's Fair. Many pedestrians are visible, standing in front of the flag. Affixed to the verso of the photograph reads, "Armistice Day Dedication of Fair's 'Peace Court.' New York…. A general view of the scene at the site of the New York World's Fair of 1939. Today during the services that combined the Armistice Day Observance and the Dedication of the Fair's 'Court of Peace.' In background may be seen the huge American flag, measuring 230 feet by 90 feet that was spread across the western rim of the Lagoon of Nations. Mayor Fiorello Laguardia delivered an address on world peace. 11-11-38." Also, stamped on the verso, "This photo copyright by International News Photos, 235 East 45th Street, New York, N.Y. Syndication Prohibited."
