The thoroughfare in the foreground is heavily populated with automobiles and busses; pedestrians are visible on the neighboring sidewalks. Kern's Department Store is visible south of Hudson's on the east side of Woodward, and the Broderick Tower is visible, north of Hudson's in the left foreground. The name of the photography studio and the geographic location are embossed on the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit."
